Our regional team (more information at CEWIPM.org) has been working to improve management of corn earworm in sweet corn. This webinar will include two talks the first focused on using Bt hybrids and the second on using insecticides during silking for management.

Veronica Yurchak

Veronica Yurchak is an Extension Specialist for commercial vegetable production with University of Maryland Extension. Her program focuses on integrated pest management and sustainable production practices in vegetable crops, including sweet corn. She received her BS in Ecology and Evolution, MS in Entomology, and PhD in Entomology at the University of Maryland.

Kelly Hamby

Kelly Hamby

Kelly Hamby is an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist in the Department of Entomology at the University of Maryland. Her research and extension program addresses invasive and emerging insect pest issues, evaluating and optimizing pest management programs, and development of sustainable alternative management tactics, primarily in mid-Atlantic small fruit, sweet corn, and grain crop systems. She received her BS in Environmental Toxicology, MS in Entomology, and PhD in Entomology at the University of California Davis.
